NCL Cruises are a good, family friendly cruises that makes for a great option for any family who is looking for an alternative to a road trip or flight based vacation. Going on the road with your kids can be a real stress, and so can herding them on and off airplanes to get to whatever destination you have planned, so having your transportation actually be the destination is a great option. NCL cruises offer a lot of free, fun activities for children. In fact, Norwegian Cruise Lines cruises are really the perfect family vacation destination. With youth programs that suit children of all ages, and are geared towards kids who want to play solo and kids who are looking to make lifelong friends, there is a lot to do on NCL cruises. There are even many activities geared towards teenagers. Youth Programs On average, NCL Cruises youth programs for kids ages two through twelve operate from 9am until 10:30pm almost every day. Parents simply register their kids, sign them in and out every day and then the rest of the time the children are left to participate on their own. Children under two years of age aren't allowed to participate in the youth program that NCL Cruises offers. There are no exceptions to this rule, so if you're traveling with a baby, you will still have to find alternative care options if you want time to yourself. Ages 2-12 There are several play options for children on NCL Cruises. From storytelling, arts and crafts and developmental activities for toddlers, to computer games, scavenger huts, parties, sports, arts, crafts and video games for older kids. If you don't want to leave your kids alone or if you are looking for some fun and creative quality time to spend with your children, there are also some family-oriented fun. There are movie nights, scavenger hunts and even a LEGO hour geared towards the whole family. Teenagers Teens have different needs than younger kids and often want cooler activities to pass their time with, and they can find that on NCL cruises. There are dinners, parties, movies and a dance club geared towards teens aged 13 through 17. There are also sports activities, video and computer games and team-building challenges. It's a great way to make some good friends during the vacation and have a little more freedom. Additional Babysitting Outside of the structured youth programs, there are also opportunities for parents to get a baby sitter to look after their children at night on NCL cruises. There is an additional cost for this, but it's worth it if you are looking for a break from the family for a chance for a romantic dinner or moonlit stroll with your spouse.
