Disney cruise deals are abundant – if you’re the right person. If you’re a Canadian, current or retired DOD personnel, Florida resident, returning cruiser or Disney Visa Rewards card holder, then keep reading to find out how you can save on your next Disney cruise. Discounts for Canadians If you’re Canadian, you may be eligible for a great deal for Canadian citizens. Disney is currently offering discounts of anywhere from $170 to $790 per person on their southern cruises. These are offered on their four-night Bahamas cruises and seven-night Caribbean cruises and they even include early March sailings. The promotional code for the Canadian resident Disney Cruise deals is CAN. Disney Deals for Military Personnel Disney runs a number of Armed Forces Salute programs that offer active and retired U.S. military members and their families’ heavy discounts on their Disney cruise deals. The programs typically run from January to June and are applicable to all immediate family members of active and retired military personnel (up to 3 state cabins). To access these discounts, call Disney Cruises directly, but be prepared to submit paperwork including any proof of current military status. However, as of October 2008, Disney is expanding their DOD policy to include retired personnel as well as employees of the CIA, FBI, Secret Service and NASA. There is a limit of Kids Sail FREE on 3-Night Cruises Disney is one of the few cruise lines to offer free rates for kids sharing a cabin with their parents. This year (2009), they’re offering free fares for kids under the age of 12 sharing a cabin on most of their 3-night itineraries. The promotion runs until May 28, 2009 and cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotional offers. Also, be prepared to bay U.S. taxes on the child’s fare ($37.48 for kids aged 6-12 and $22.48 for kids 5 and younger). Florida Resident Discounts Disney cruise deals are often available for Florida residents as a way of saying thank you for hosting the Disney family. Proof of Florida residency is required and the deal is only applicable on certain sailings (usually running in January). To access this promotion, contact Disney Cruises directly by phone or through their website. Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders If you have a Disney Rewards Visa card, you could be eligible for an additional $50 in onboard credits for every booking you make with the card on Disney cruises. Cardholders might also be eligible for a stateroom credit or upgrade worth $100 to $200. You can use the onboard credit for spa treatments, drinks, shore excursions, and other paid ship activities. To access these Disney cruise deals for onboard credit, use the booking code DCC and book with your Disney Rewards Visa. See also: All Articles for Travel Cruise Adventures
