Cheapest Cruise Prices:

How to Get the Cheapest Cruise Prices and Deals

Cruise Scenes You'll Love

Custom Search

The cheapest cruise prices often aren’t the ones you find on that travel search site or by calling up your travel agent. Typically, the cheapest cruise travel prices are the ones you have to actually look for.

To learn how to score great special cruise deals, keep reading.

Ask for a Hidden Stateroom

In some staterooms, the porthole views are blocked by pieces of safety machinery or other ship equipment. For this reason, these rooms are sold at interior cabin rates.

Meanwhile, they’re bigger, more luxurious and offer better amenities, meaning you could save big just by shopping smart.

Book Well in Advance or Last Minute

Because cruise lines would rather see their cabins full than empty, they’ll often discount their cruise prices for last minute deals. That means if you’re flexible about your specific travel dates or destination and can leave at the last minute, you can pick up some sweet bargains.

Of course, there are deals to be had by booking well in advance too. Some of the cheapest cruise prices are actually those booked up to eight months in advance.

In an effort to deter customers from waiting until the last minute to book, cruise lines have started to offer heavy early booking bonuses that include onboard credits, discounted room rates and free shore excursions. In addition, most lines will offer you a credit if you see your same room and cruise selling for a lower price.

Sign up for Rewards Programs

Signing up for the Carnival or Norwegian cruise line email alerts might be annoying, but it can also be a great way to stay on top of bargains and hot deals.

Most cruise lines offer their biggest specials to members and repeat customers first. So, stay on track of upcoming deals by signing up for their email bulletins and newsletters.

Opt for the Off Season

You’ll find the cheapest cruise prices during the off season or what’s called the shoulder seasons. For example, an Alaskan cruise is at peak prices in July and August, but can be had for a fraction of the price if you’re willing to go in May or late September.

Ask Your Travel Agent to Match an Online Price

If you find a great cruise price online, your travel agent should be able to match it. In exchange, you get the convenience of ordering directly from a travel agent along with the insurance and customer service they can provide.

Skip the Air Bundles

You can often get the cheapest cruise prices by skipping the air bundles and booking your own flights. However, be warned that if your flight is delayed, the cruise ship does not have to wait for you.
