A Popular Cruise Line
Among the cruise lines plying their trade in the Gulf of Mexico is Carnaval Cruise Line, and they have some wonderful journeys to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
No matter where you want to depart from: Texas, Louisiana, or Florida, they have got you covered. And, you can enjoy a short three or four day cruise, or upwards of a week. It all depends on what you want to do - especially if you keep your eye open for special cruise deals.
Stopping at the Islands
In your typical Carnaval cruise, you can incorporate a nice stop at the Grand Cayman Islands; a beautiful and picturesque spot. As the locals will tell you, the island does not really have all that much in the way of natural resources. So, the inhabitants had to look elsewhere for a means of supporting themselves.
Today, one of the ways is through banking; it is downright amazing how many banks there are on the islands. And, of course, there is tourism. Once on the islands, you can indulge in swimming, fishing, snorkeling etc. – all manner of water sports.
They also have incredible shopping, which is quite surprising considering they are a small cluster of islands. Yet, there are enough jewelry stores to satisfy a whole shipload of “hungry” shoppers, and perfume shops, clothing stores and boutiques galore.
See all that the Yucatan has to Offer
Next stop on your Carnaval cruise is the coast of Mexico. Whether Cozumel or one of the other coastal cities of Central America, you can be assured of a wonderful time. Within Cozumel is enough shopping to keep you busy for days, and just about anything can be had there. Also, rather surprisingly, the city is quite accessible for the handicapped. In the event any members of your party are in a wheelchair, some of the taxis can actually accommodate them.
Then there are the shore excursions. If you want to visit the Mayan ruins of Tulum and see the temple where they watched the sunrise on the first day of spring, they have got you covered. Bear in mind, the bus ride is over an hour. Still, it’s well worth it.
On the other hand, Carnaval cruises also offer you other means of fun. You can go scuba diving or sailing in the nearby waters, or spend the day in town and sample some local cuisine. No matter what your area of interest, no matter how you want to have fun, a Carnaval cruise has got you covered.
